1.3 Book Of No Regrets

Logan's Deep Fried Diner.
Free meal in the park.

With the amount of promotions Crystal's been getting, she's been able to afford dining in Logan's Deep Fried Diner, so that's a real mood booster! Goodbye free meals and hello to, well, paid meals.

Gunther was nervous to call Crystal after the Cornelia incident, but he couldn't bare not knowing whether she still had feelings for him...because he still did. He called her and luckily she answered.

Gunther: "Hi."

Crystal: "Gunther?!"

Gunther: "Would you like to meet up? I miss you so much. If you want we could have dinner at the Bistro. Catch up, for old times sake."

Crystal: "Oh, I don't know. The last time you said you missed me turned out extremely...surprising. How are your twins anyways?"

Gunther: "They're great, they're such beautiful girls, but of course it comes with a price; I've had many a sleepless nights...and I promise it won't happen again."

Crystal: "Well you do get two wonderful girls, so I guess it's worth it right? Oh, and Gunther? We're just having dinner, okay? Nothing else."

Gunther: "Great. See you in an hour?"

Crystal: "See you in an hour."

Now all Gunther has to do is prep gothically for the date. Crystal meanwhile, heart pounding, puts on Gunther's favorite dress, the yellow one with the black lining.

***************************************************************************************************************

A little while ago Crystal's boss (also her best friend), Bessie Clavell, gifted Crystal the Book of No Regrets. The title is fairly self explanatory, a book, a guide, a way of life. No regrets. She's been pretty obsessed with the book, reading it day and night, the No-Regret-Ameter rises every time she does anything 'right'. Spontaneous. Memorable. Maybe it's a book full of to-be-nightmares, but it does have some good tips...

"If you love somebody, let them go. If they come back, and refuse to go, they love you. If they don't, they never did."

"Just once, be spontaneous, be what you dare not be."

"Make the most of today for memories of yesterdays."

Crystal was so inspired by the book, she decided that she would now change her life. Make things right. Perhaps start again?

She decided the first thing to deal with was her relationship with Gunther. Gunther and her, they'll never work. Gunther's old now and Crystal didn't want his twins growing up knowing that they had a father who had a mistress. She knew that no matter how many times Gunther says he'll leave Cornelia, he never will. He cares about his children too much. And yet he'll never leave her too, not unless she ended it. So she dialed his number and arranged a meeting, to sort out things between them...

Gunther: "Crystal, so what do you want to do tonight? I'm not used to Sunset Valley being so dark. I'm surprised that the government decided to participate in the 'Switch It Off' program."

Crystal: "Gunther, we're never gonna work out. It was fun and beautiful while it lasted, but it's time for you and I to move on...go our separate ways."

Gunther: "Crystal, please, don't."

Crystal: "I need to leave while I still can, goodbye Gunther."

Gunther: "Crystal, no, I'll leave Cornelia. I swear I will."

Crystal: "Don't. Your kids need both of you. I'll always love you."

Crystal fixing the sink @ Central Park.

Earlier on she'd noticed a broken sink while at the park, and decided to go back and help it; repair it.

Like the sink, Crystal was filled with tears. She questions her decision, but I guess she did the right thing, after all the No-Regret-Ameter was pretty high. Very green filled.

I guess life decided to reward Crystal for going out of her comfort zone, she got a promotion to Vegetable Slicer that night.

Pay : $87/hr , $479/day
Working Time : 3PM - 8:30PM
Holidays : Wed + Thurs

Crystal was so grateful to Bessie for giving her a promotion, she decided to go visit her house and thank her personally. When she reached the door, Bessie's husband answered the door instead, his eyes were swollen...

Crystal: "Buster, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Buster: "Bessie, she's gone."

Crystal: "No! She can't be, she looked fine an hour ago. I was there with her, she gave me a promotion!"

Buster: "She had a massive heart attack. You'd never think people like Bessie, oh gosh I miss her so much!"

Crystal: "At least she got to see her son married to a beautiful, kind woman."

Buster: "Yes, at least that. Thank you, for caring so much. You're such a lovely woman."

They kissed.

Crystal and Buster, 'comforting' each other. Kissing.
Was it a sudden wave of emotion? Of sadness? Was it that then? Emotion that prompted them to seek comfort in each other? By kissing?! What kind of best friend, and husband would do such a thing? It wasn't the quick ones that you give to family, it was a slow, meaningful kiss. Crystal doesn't even have the emotional, dramatic, family-oriented, inappropriate, hopeless romantic or flirty trait. Is this the deed of the BOOK? Is this Crystal's new start? A new start with Buster? Or is it something more complicated?

  1. Didn't see that one coming with Buster, I've never seen him as the head of a legacy before.
